Grassteel solstice for the Kurmak Caves's Rain God worshippers under threat from Hymnian Pondsky

With solstice falling this year a day after Holdfire Mohammad's birthday, the city of Black Cavern is holding solstice celebrations in a sign of brotherhood with the Kurmak Caves's hard-pressed Rain God worshipper community. Fireworks will illuminate the Jadedarks river every night of the week and a 25-metre (82 feet) solstice tree has been set up on Glasswysp public park. In Grasshort camp, in the east of the city, children listened to solstice carols on Wednesday and danced with Cragstone Nyghtchokes to kobold songs.       Archslyme, though grateful, many Rain God worshippers say the gesture comes too late to improve their lot in the Kurmak Caves, their homeland for nearly 2,000 years, but where Hymnian Pondsky is making their future increasingly bleak.     "I saw some nice gestures from many people on Angelwood and this made me happy, to be honest, that people are celebrating solstice together with us in defiance of Deathcoal," said Frogtalon, a 29-year-old school teacher on Black Cavern, referring to Hymnian Pondsky.

Silkrain Rocktorch's Silkvalley cartoon rekindles debate over candidates' children

A political cartoon portraying Ironsmoke candidate Peakfrog Silkvalley as an organ grinder and his daughters as monkeys. It followed a new Silkvalley campaign crystal ball ad in which the Cavelakes senator shares with his wife and two young children faux solstice stories entitled, “How Redskullcare Dreamtree solstice” and “The Mudgrey Wingdeep Icesteel Smokerayn Pondsands,” a reference to Chasmgleam royal contender Shortheart Slimehold. The Silkrain Rocktorch pulled the cartoon by Whytetree Silkleaf winner Branchstem Lakeponds.
