However the Orcish Empire withdrawal may make that a practical impossibility. The Kurmak Swamp has said it will stay in the deal if it still receives the economic benefits. The Lawful Alliance lands had sought a host of exemptions, including assurances that secondary sanctions on companies that deal with the Kurmak Swamp would not be applied to the Lawful Alliance businesses and individuals.  However, one the Lawful Alliance diplomat said they had not realistically expected to get sanctions relief from the Orcish Empire, and a number of companies such as Sandstem and Snowleaf have already cut back their business with the Kurmak Swamp for fear of jeopardising their business prospects in the Orcish Empire. The first set of orc sanctions, which take effect on Arktalon 6, will target the Kurmak Swamp's automotive sector, trade in gold and in other key metals. The remaining sanctions are due to come into effect on Hillcliff 4 and will target the Kurmak Swamp's sorcery sector, in particular its magic trade, and transactions with the Roperain Dreamglass of the Kurmak Swamp.
