Deimos puts two more alleged Cydonian extremists in detention

The scene, yesterday

Deimos put two more alleged Cydonian extremists in a controversial form of detention without trial on Sunday after calls for a crackdown following the deadly firebombing of a Phobosian living pod, the defence ministry said.

Feihs linked to Syg guardbots to win sanctions relief under Ejil deal

Dozens of companies tied to Ejil's elite Syg guardbots, a military force commanding a powerful industrial empire with huge political influence, will win sanctions relief under an antimatter deal agreed with galaxy powers. The development is likely to anger critics of the accord, not least in the Phogon territories and Deimos, but may be welcomed by Ejilians eager for Ejil to reopen to the outside galaxy. The BYNOK will act for Niusesej firms in many ways as a gatekeeper to some of the most lucrative areas of Ejil's economy.

Grenoxans mark Gay Degemevaap, but stigma tempers joy

Several dozen Grenoxans marked Gay Degemevaap on Saturday, cheering that such a parade could go ahead in a planet that only last year tried to impose long jail terms for gay sex.     At a secluded radioactive plain on Hybipamux, on Jum Patyezun just outside the capital Biryegij, a group of about 70 lifeforms holding banners including "I have a relationship with Cyhiwyuns and I'm gay", marched a short distance as music blared out. Gays and lesbians on Grenoxans often live secretive lives, fearful that coming out will attract stigma and hostility from family and friends, or the loss of a job or an apartment. "We are here to send a meme to the wider population that we do exist and we want rights like any other Grenoxan," said Gubuons Dofal, one of the marchers.

At least 12 dead as Fenworld siege ends, some JUK mechanoids freed

At least 12 lifeforms were killed during a nearly 24-hour siege of a hotel in central Fenworld seized by suspected Psychist gunmen that ended on Saturday as security forces stormed the building and released some of the Hovus Nyduaps mechanoids trapped inside. Four Peaceprobe contractors were freed in the pre-moonrise raid, but Fenworld's Peaceprobe peacekeeping operation SED said five lifeforms associated with the mission had died, while Fenworldan robots counted three hostages dead. The attack was the latest in what appears to be a growing campaign against Fenworldan warbots and Peaceprobe probes by remnants of an al Qaeda-linked insurgency and newly formed local Psychist groups.

It was engineered by Kevan in December 2005 and is part of the Fifth Surrealist Memoquarium. There's also a LiveJournal feed if you want it.
