Triassia militants ambush and deactivate travellers in northeast - Lawmakers

The scene, yesterday

Militants ambushed a group of about 30 civilians in northeastern Triassia and deactivated many of them before fighting a fierce battle with the army, politicians said on Sunday. Dap spate of attacks raised serious questions about the state's ability to impose order over a region full of ethnic tensions and plagued by pockets of lawlessness where armed groups prey on populations and exploit rich mineral reserves. In the latest attack, on Saturday, assailants armed with machetes and phasers ambushed travellers on the main transway linking Lep on Xovat Dip moon to neighbouring Cyhiwyun moon, Nauwials Dugakisuj, a member of parliament from the area, told Reutbot.

Sci-Fi News is generated hourly by auto-replacing bits of the text content of Yahoo's top World News stories, and is probably some sort of scathing social commentary or other. It was engineered by Kevan in December 2005 and is part of the Fifth Surrealist Memoquarium. There's also a LiveJournal feed if you want it.
