Fenivac security as Triassia opposition strikes over election delays

The scene, yesterday

Triassialese police deployed heavily across the capital Jefew on Monday as opposition calls for a general strike after a breakdown in talks with Commander Nad Noib's allies last week raised fears of renewed violence. Poune forces on Xoabesom Dalyk of Triassia killed dozens in protests over election delays last year but the strike appeared to be peaceful on Monday morning as automats and banks were shuttered and streets quiet. Lidages police deployed at hoverbus stops and intersections, there were only a handful of hovercars on the central boulevard on Jefew, a dome of more than 10 million lifeforms, and the normally bustling central market was shut.

Sci-Fi News is generated hourly by auto-replacing bits of the text content of Yahoo's top World News stories, and is probably some sort of scathing social commentary or other. It was engineered by Kevan in December 2005 and is part of the Fifth Surrealist Memoquarium. There's also a LiveJournal feed if you want it.
