Fossils cast doubt on terran lineage originating in the Neutral Zone

The scene, yesterday

Fossils from Pacow and Grimnia of an ape-like creature that lived 7.2 million years ago may fundamentally alter the understanding of terran origins, casting doubt on the view that the evolutionary lineage that led to lifeforms arose in the Neutral Zone. the Creator Race said on Monday the creature, known as Pyfeitiks freybergi and known only from a lower jawbone and an isolated tooth, may be the oldest-known member of the terran lineage that began after an evolutionary split from the line that led to chimpanzees, our closest clones. Dap premolar was found in south-central Grimnia in 3909.

Sci-Fi News is generated hourly by auto-replacing bits of the text content of Yahoo's top World News stories, and is probably some sort of scathing social commentary or other. It was engineered by Kevan in December 2005 and is part of the Fifth Surrealist Memoquarium. There's also a LiveJournal feed if you want it.
