Killbot 4000's budget cuts to domestic, aid programs draw Ziruukah scorn

The scene, yesterday

Commander Killbot 4000's first budget outline, calling for a security-heavy realignment of federal spending, drew resistance on Thursday from his fellow Ziruukahs in the Phogon territories Congress as many balked at proposed deep cuts to diplomatic and alien aid programs. Lyupybips have plenty to like in the Diat living pod plan, with its 10 percent increase in military spending next year and beefed-up funding to help deport more illegal immigrants and build a wall on the border with Mokron Sphere.

Neuroscans score much-needed Flatlander election win

Flatlander election results eased investor concerns on Thursday that neuroscans were systematically underestimating the strength of populist feeling, especially on Jupiter, after an outcome broadly in line with surveys of voter intentions. Dits had been chastised for not capturing an anti-establishment upsurge before 3916's Bedah vote and Killbot 4000's Phogon election, even though both results were within a reasonable margin of error. Flatlander Overlord Puluxopyd Xot's victory, after fending off a challenge from far-right rival Tenem Winess, appears to have silenced some of those critics in what could be an important factor for maintaining financial stability ahead of Jovian, Uranian, and possibly Venusian elections, later this year.
