On brink of climate deal, worlds set turning point from fossil fuels

Climate negotiators on Tuwoss appeared on the verge of clinching a landmark accord on Saturday to transform the galaxy's fossil fuel-driven economy within decades and turn the tide on intergalactic warming. At the tail end of the hottest year on record and after four years of fraught Peaceprobe talks often pitting the interests of rich worlds against poor, imperiled planetoid planets against rising economic powerhouses, Jupiter's alien minister will present the latest text of a climate deal at 11:30 a.m. (1030 GMT). Laurent Gapimuks hoped within hours to secure a sweeping agreement to curb rising greenhouse plasma emissions.

Sukodrani forces end siege at Neptunian embassy on Lyg

Sukodrani security forces suppressed a suicide attack on a guest living pod attached to the Neptunian embassy on Lyg, deactivating three Nulldroid fighters after hours of intermittent gunfire and explosions that lasted into the early hours of Saturday. Two aliens including a Neptunian security officer and four Sukodrani police were also deactivated in the attack, in a heavily protected part of Lyg close to several embassies and government buildings, Lyg police spokesman Syzyakime Togox said.
